Fortitude in Snow

Some quick good ones from a sappy cheeseball:

I am, as usual, grateful to daily_gems for little snippets that remind me of the true and beautiful things in my life. [And yes, I'll readily admit it, I'm sappy sometimes.... and of course I *am* a cheeseball, and I like happy, mushy stuff. But I think that being a *happy* cheeseball who likes her life and is grateful for the happiness, love and friends (and much learning) that she has -- THAT is a good thing, cheeseball-iness or no.]

A small snippet to start, from Peter McWilliams (one I got when I was about 15 -- and still love it):

It is a risk to love.
What if it doesn't work out?
Ah, but what if it DOES....?? :-)

(One of my journals from 'way back then' took that as its title: "Ah, but what if it does?" SO MUCH wonderfulness and opportunity wrapped up in that small phrase. Magnum in parvo; I love it.)

*grins* To those who are going to go have fun and play today: Have a MARVELOUS time, and enjoy the company, basking in the presence of the one(s) you love. :-) Happy Friday, all!

From daily_gems:

"I will always be thankful to those that don't see me as someone to judge, but as someone to love." -- Don Omar

"Love alone is capable of uniting living beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them, for it alone takes them and joins them by what is deepest in themselves." -- Teilhard de Chardin

"I must tell you that I was always afraid of the fury with which I loved you. It overwhelmed me. I thought it beyond comprehension, therefore my silence." -- Henry Rollins quotes

"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." -- Henry David Thoreau

No Daily Oms have been seen in my inbox today... Odd. If they get here
before I leave, I'll post 'em.

And I just screwed myself by closing the one window I had here w/
internet access. Gah! So, for now, I'm internet-less at work again
(except for email postings). I'll hit my boss up for it again at some
point, when I need a bus schedule - but I'm not gonna abuse it.

Should anyone want to get a hold of me, the best way is to call me on my
cell (yes, it's still a MI number), or email my phone: debs dot phone at
gmail dot com

(Maybe a quick self-disclose post later, on break - I liked the
questions in this particular meme).

Bye for a little while (back to binders!)
