Today's Daily Om: Kindness

I had some minor irritations this morning, but am determined not to let
them color my whole day. I woke up *not* in pain (which is great!!) and
am enjoying a good day. And I got this wonderful Om in my mailbox - a
Reminder to me of things I need to know. :-)

It reminds me that, even when someone overcharges me for breakfast, it's
not on purpose, and it really might just be an opportunity to practice
kindness instead of grumpiness. Because let's face it, I'm probably
already better than I need to be at being grumpy - it's the "kind" part
that needs practice. And so I shall - it's usually more fun being kind,
anyway. And fun: isn't that what life is all about? :-)

Happy Hump Day to everyone.

Some other cool things....

These were over at daily_gemsdaily_gems.

:-) I like the people that gather there; they're just COOL.

"It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more 'manhood' to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind."

Historical Deb Blurb: An Answer to a question....

Someone commented to me recently: You always talk about Jim, but you're not dating him anymore. It's clear you're still tight; how did you two meet?

(Cue the Bonnie Rait tune:)

"Let's give 'em something to talk about, baby... a little mystery to figure out...."

(Place on the Deb-Timeline: The year is 1991, and it is summer. I am 22, nearly 23.)

One more ClueBrick from the Random Note From The Universe page:

It's so tempting to look at your present life situation, at who you're with, to where you work, to what you have and have not, and think to yourself, “This was obviously meant to be, I’m here for a reason." And to a degree, you'd be right. But you are where you are because of the thoughts you used to (and may still) think, and so you are where you are, to learn that this is how life works – NOT because it was meant to be.

Don't give away your power to vague or mysterious logic. Tomorrow is a blank slate in terms of people, work, and play, though because it, too, will be of your making, you will again have that sense that it was meant to be, no matter who or what you've drawn into your life.

Nothing is meant to be, except for your freedom to choose and your power to create.

Choose big and be happy.

Well, okay then. :-)
