Wicked Inside

Observations

It is 3:43 a.m.

I am awake. Again.

Should I be surprised? Probably not, given the circumstances (mental as well as physical). But this lack of 'getting to sleep' is really gonna make Monday morning *suck.*

Lots of writing, lots of thinking (a hefty amount being not for public consumption).

And this evening was something, wasn't it? :-) One helluva party, indeed. Many birthday felicitations and happy thoughts to M. for his continued trek around the sun. Saw lots of shiny faces I hadn't seen in a while (not since before my surgery), and that was good. Everyone looked lovely/handsome. :-) The food was wonderful (asparagus!! fettucini alfredo!! swedish meatballs!! CHEEEEEEESE!!), and the drinks were glamorous and plentiful (How many times can *you* say PurpleMonkeyDishwasher? Better yet, how many did you drink?). I had (and gave) some lovely hugs, and even got a much-needed shoulder massage (thank you roomie!!). At least I remembered my inhaler, and could breathe (most of the time), and my hair didn't attack anyone. A nifty little mutant bunny finger puppet jumped in my pocket and followed me home (it first stowed away in my cleavage). It has 4 ears and sharp, pointy teeth... Grrr!

I wanted to play the cool first-person shooter, or the crash-em-up game up on the movie screen... but I couldn't stop coughing (mumblemumbledamnplantbukkakemumble). And the inhaler made me want to *fly* home. The tequila helped, though -- many thanks to the Martian Gods for that.

And now... to sleep, perchance to dream.... (or at least snore).

The Deb goes splat, (and I share a GOOD post)

Okay, so I fell asleep while sitting with my friends as they gamed, earlier. *blush* The Deb can only run for so long on lack of sleep, no matter *how much* inhaler she has ingested, before she goes splat. And apparently I did, with much fanfare in my snoring.

And these kind, gracious friends were not offended, and appear to have been merely amused by it. (I am lucky to have such folk). They let me snore for about 10 minutes, and when I woke up, they *gently* told me so. *looks slightly embarassed* I *do* love hanging out with this bunch -- they're a lot of fun, and I like to listen, and enjoy the interactions (and the silly humor!!!) And really, this is the *first* time I've fallen asleep, as I find the game fascinating, too.

But I am a goofy girl, for snoring at *their* function, when I have a perfectly-functional bed downstairs. Silly Deb. So, I bade them all a good night, and went downstairs, to fall facedown into my warm blankets and pillows.... ahh.... *splat*

I woke up a bit ago, drenched in sweat, with the blankets in a tangle (so I must have had a few big dreams). And I read some of a book I'm starting (it's a long but good Prologue, and I need the backstory for it). Then I came out here, and chatted with someone nice, and read an EXCELLENT post (imho) on Love and Polyamory. Please do go read it, and lemme know what y'all think.

As for me, perhaps some more pillow-time is in order. I did a lot of dreamwork from 6:30 to 10:30 tonight; perhaps now I can go have some fun in the NetherLands.

G'night, and **hugs** to all.
