Supreme Court Cases (meme)

As was demonstrated in an interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin is unable to name any Supreme Court Case other than Roe v. Wade.

The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic, to your lj. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.)
[For those who see this on your f-list, post your response here, or take the meme to your own lj to spread the fun.]

Plessy v. Ferguson, the Supreme Court case in 1896 that instituted 'separate vs. equal' in the US. It was overturned (and very rightly so) by the landmark decision Brown v. Board of Education in 1954.

Response on a small bit of The Debate

Governor Palin gave a 'shout-out' to a third grade class...

Am I so far behind the times, to think that modern slang (or 'urban/ghetto-speak') is appropriate in a Vice Presidential debate? I understand that acknowledging the children that may be watching is a good thing, but IN SLANG?

Does this set a good example to the children of our 'Brightest and Best', to which they can and should aspire? Ye gods, NO.

Maybe I'm just being a snob. Or maybe I'm reacting to the umpteen-times she previously said that awful word (nook-yoo-ler). *twitch-twitch*
