Response on a small bit of The Debate

Governor Palin gave a 'shout-out' to a third grade class...

Am I so far behind the times, to think that modern slang (or 'urban/ghetto-speak') is appropriate in a Vice Presidential debate? I understand that acknowledging the children that may be watching is a good thing, but IN SLANG?

Does this set a good example to the children of our 'Brightest and Best', to which they can and should aspire? Ye gods, NO.

Maybe I'm just being a snob. Or maybe I'm reacting to the umpteen-times she previously said that awful word (nook-yoo-ler). *twitch-twitch*

The State of the Cranium is: : annoyed annoyed

She got schooled after the Katie Couric interview, intenseley and with good effect. They told her to push the "down home girl" image.

Meh, "shout=out" doesn't bother me. She could've gone way more ghetto than that. "Nucular" does bother me, though maybe it shouldn't so much.

But she still makes me cringe.

Remember that president who got his dick sucked, and then lied about it under oath?

And everyone said 'Stuff doesn't matter"?

This is how far the quality bar has been pushed into the ground.

A former drunk coke head can be elected TWICE to the highest office - and now the chick from Alaska will be 1 heart beat away from the presidency.

I guess, people who are bitching about this now - ought have held the office to a higher standard so this wouldn't have occured.

Those chickens is coming home to roost, ya'll.

I didn't think "shout-out" was too gangsta, just too silly. "Hi, look at me! I'm on the telly-vision!"

She could have called them her "homies".

You're not a snob. It wasn't presidential, it was provincial. My mouth dropped when she said that. (and at many other points)
